Happiness is Where the Heart is

What does happiness mean to you? Someone had asked me that question yesterday, and it could mean differently for anyone. As for me, I said to my friend, happiness is being effortlessly happy. You just happy without any force of making someone else happy, or making yourself happy. Feeling good from within I suppose. But Im just a human, sometimes its not easy to find that feeling when the work drives me to my limit, or someone is testing my emotions, or simply the unforgiving weather of Jakarta (eh tangerang deng hehe).

When I had my birthday many moons ago, my mom gave me a birthday card, but more of a feel-good card. I love the writings so much, and really did represent what my mom used to say to me-- more or less. Here goes;

Happiness is never out of reach

For the sweet miracle in life

Believe in the wisdom of your heart

And always remember how much I believe in you

It touches me every time I read it. Even now.

My mom always said to me that I should listen to my heart. My heart knows whats best for me. Now I understand, heart is where God talked to us. And of course listen to it will always be right. It may seems difficult or fearful at the moment, but if the heart says so, you just have to follow through. I have to admit it is not easy sometimes. I often got confused with the voice of my heart and the voice of my mind. What heart wants sometimes are risky, and the mind goes panic and says things like, what if you fail? what if this what if that and all the negativity the world has to offer. And for that, the heart went silent. You ignore your heart. Oh, and don't forget about lust.. Yes, lust is a very good friend of heart. They're like twins sometimes, you cant tell the difference from one another. 'My heart wants that shoes!'--lust dears, not really came from the heart.

I could go on about this forever.. But I guess thats it for now.

You may feel differently about this whole thing, thats fine..It is only a silly theory about heart and happiness. I just want to get this out into the void. :)

That this movie is bad. I really truly hate to admit it.. But there goes.

I love Mandy Moore, and I have high expectations with this film of course. And, I think to myself okay.. this is about a young newlyweds who experiencing a new bumps in married life. So when I watched it, I was little lost. Sure, its about the few bumps I was talking about earlier.. But, its more about the bride's parents marriage, and Mandy Moore's character ( forgot the name) tries to bring them back together. Aaand because of that, the newlyweds' marriage also falling apart.

The basic story was I think, actually good. But the plots are messy, the characters are too 'play a part' thing, the script is trying to be funny (but failed), and the storyline is just confusing.

Its just not real. Im sorry..

But the good part is, I got to see Kellan Lutz half naked. Maybe I'll watch it again for the sake of it. ;D

Once upon a time, few months back, I purchased a set of kitchen stove with an oven and the hood. But I told them to deliver it later. Delivery day has come, with a fresh smiley face the delivery guy told me that my Rice Cooker is here. I'm like, what?! I ordered a full set of kitchen stove not a rice cooker?! ! His smile suddenly disappeared, but I'm just the delivery guy Ma'am.. he said. So I told him to let his boss from the office call me tomorrow so that I can complain at the right guy. This poor delivery guy was a little upset, I can tell. But hell, I'm more upset! So there was the story behind this incredible illustration my friend, Slamet has made. It was an unfortunate occasion, but somehow my friend thought it could be a funny illustration. And he's right.

Heartfelt Adam

Hugh Dancy has come a long way since his performance in Ella Encanted. Now he plays a quite different and not a common role, as Adam a boy who has an Asperger, some sort of autism, and has no one in his life to look after him. Until he met Beth, a new neighbor that understands him, and of course the fell in love.

Adam has touched my soul, his vulnerability, unconsciously sweet heart and his genuine heart were the things I fell in love with in the movie.

I was a little disappointed with the ending though, but! I would watch it all over again just to see Adam's journey. It was not a sad ending, I should tell you that, but it was more like.. life. Yes, our journey in life will always has a happy moments, but then we move on for search of another happy moments, you know what I mean? Thats other thing I love about this movie, it was real.

And the soundtrack was awesome..! I already downloaded it, xD

I have a (huge) thing for scruffy and long haired sweet sexy guy. This Prince Caspian is the ultimate dream guy of mine. So, if anyone happens to run into him, or someone 99.9% looks like him please give me a call.

When I watched Narnia 3 the other day, I did not expect to see Prince Caspian as sexy and as PERFECT! Sure, in the Narnia 2 he's already gorgeous, no doubt about it.. But this scruffiness and the hair and the clothes and the eyes and the..o- everything, has stepped up a few notch! He really did take my breath away I almost died.

Yesterday, I was a little girl again. A naive and wished I was a princess waiting to be rescued by a prince. After many years of absent, finally Disney had made a princess cartoon again! I don't know what took them so long.. Hopefully after this they would continue making princess story again. Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi was the talents behind this movie, and they sang beautifully for Alan Menken's songs. My favorite is this one, I See the Light, play and be ready for chills, guys.

And what I love also about this movie are the characters, the princess (Rapunzel) is not a common princess, she's lively, adventurous, and if you look closely her teeth aren't perfect like mine! (this one I relate to the most ;D). The prince, well he's not a prince.. he's a thief! Which when we go along we understands why he became a thief, and somehow despite his know-it-all behavior, we fell in love with him. The relationship between them was also human, not fell in love at a first glance thing.

All and all this is a must see movie! and cant wait for the DVD to come out!

I wish the story was true, but no.. that's just me being dreamy. The real fact is they met in the university, and fell in love. But never mind how they've met, I think Kate Middleton is perfect for a princess and as equally gorgeous as her boy-prince. And when I see Kate, somehow I found some resemblances with Lady Diana. She's a little shy, loves a good laugh, and the same smart-grace a princess must have, but still humble. Lets just hope they do live happily ever after.

At first I was interested in this movie just because of the casts, Katerine Heigl (love her!) and Josh Duhamel (no need to ask why, of course), but as I watched it, it got me instantly. Somehow it was very real and well, I have never been a mom before, but I think most new young parents will experiencing what they've experienced in the movie. It's funny and also heartfelt. After watching it, it made me feel.. uplifted. Yes, this is one of those movies.

I just watched Prince of Persia- again. I love all the legends, myth and before-time- magical feelings. Really want to go to Morroco, Fez.. the Mid East. I have to give all my thumbs for the costume designer, Penny Rose, who I think did a marvelous job creating such complex and yet beautiful costumes. Their research was very thorough that made us jumped back in year 500. For me, my best movie in 1010 so far.

Movie Night; Driving Miss Daisy

Few weeks ago, we went to hunt some DVDs for 'Movie Night' (almost every Saturday now has been a Movie Night). So there we were eager to find some new movie to watch, but yet we found this old classic movie; Driving Miss Daisy. I've never watched it before, I only know the soundtrack (Mr. Hans Zimmer always delivers..). And it turned out great. The movie was basically about a friendship between an old stubborn lady, and her very patient driver. If it was not played by Morgan Freeman and Jessica Tandy I bet the movie would've been dull and boring. It's one of the movies that made you feel...at ease.

If you like old grandma-stuff kind of things (like I do), you must love this soundtrack.

I have not had the time for blogging lately. Like i said, I've been pretty occupied with packing and moving stuff.. I have to move out by the end of this month, and still haven't got a place to rent! Yes, I'm almost homeless. But despite all that, the thing I love the most is finding old vintage items. Since none of them are mine (otherwise they won't be vintage by now do they?), somehow this packing process has given me the chance to know my grandparents and my mother more. I'm moving out. Have I told you that? My house which I've been living for 20 years is sold. So these couple of weeks we've cleared our storage room, throw unused things, keep the good stuff, wrap and put them in boxes. Kind of tiring to be honest this process, I enjoyed it once in a while but there're times I just got really exhausted. Not just the moving and packing stuff, but also hard for me to finally leave the home I'd been known for ever. So, I want to fly away. And just take my mind off of things for a bit. This Final Month

The End is near. End of 2009 that is.. Not the 2012 sort of thing, which by the way was a complete waste of time watching it (not even worth for DVD bajakan). And I have to say it went fast, this year. Like a blink of an eye, not so much.. make it 4 blinks. I had many new and exciting experiences throughout this year, but my highlight of the year had to be my trip to Sydney of course ;)

Then I realized, all things I wanted so badly, when I did get them suddenly they swift by smoothly and ever so fast. And now, there they are, sleeping peacefully in my memory. All things must pass says Sir George Harrison, all things must pass away..

Maybe it's the weather, or it's December I feel quite sentimental (hey! a rhyme!). There are one or two things I'd like to redo about this year, but overall this year has had done a great deal of lessons for me, with that I say thank you and curtsy.

I got a letter this morning from my family from Down Under, the peanutbutterjellycrew! I quickly called my Dad, and Aya together we slowly and carefully tore it open. They never mailed any letter before, and we were ecstatic..!And voila! They sent me some of Kendra's and Ceska's drawings! So cute I almost ate them..!

Dated back on June 2002, when I was just starting university, other part of the world celebrated Golden Jubilee of Elizabeth II. What is Golden Jubilee of Elizabeth II? you may wonder.. click here, if you care, or keep on reading if you have better things to do. Anyway, part of this Golden events is a party, Party At The Palace. Held on the Queen's Palace, or backyard to be exact.. Many great musicians were here to celebrate and to perform their best music in front of Her Majesty along with Prince Phillip, Prince Charles, Prince William, and Prince Henry.

Great and legendary artists such as, Sir Paul McCartney, Phil Collins, Beach Boys, Tony Bennet, The Corrs, Sir Elton John, Queen.. and not so legendary such as Ricky Martin, S Club 7, and Atomic Kitten (no offence) and many others were rocking Queen's backyard.

But from all of many performances, only one I think is spectacular. Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody was hands down. And I bet, Freddie up there's smiling too.

Perform fantastically by Tony Vincent, and of course I fell for him.. (and no, he's not gay! he has a wife! I googled him.. *wink).

Enjoy, be ready for goosebumps!

A Night to Remember

I owned a boutique. Did I ever mention that? Anyway, last Monday, my boutique had been a sponsor for Chrisye's family wardrobe for a concert called, Classic Chrisye-- A Night to Remember. Okay, maybe a little nepotism involved here.. But hey, all they did was count me in, and the rest I did on my own--from concept to finishing touch..me and my team of course, the inseparable Mas Kirno and Mba Erna.

Overall it was quite a success and my creations were not that bad either. I think.. ;)

Put down your Starbucks, and make yourself an English Breakfast Tea instead. Because this new Burberry ad campaign is very British, I adore them very well indeed. I've always love Burberry (I'm planning (or hoping, finger crossed) to have at least 1 Burberry in my lifetime!), and their campaigns are always sophisticated and yet sexy without showing too much skin. Emma Watson is perfect for Burberry, love her!

It's Been A While

Yes, it's been a while since my last post. I've been occupied with all things lebaran; went from one relative's to another (for a few days. We even went to go to see some relatives we didnt usually go to for lebaran) , wash the dishes, cooks (well, heat things actually..), tidy things up, sweeps the garden..etcetera etcetera. I had many thoughts I wanted to share, about lebaran. But my brain says to my eyes; 'Huh, rite. Try stay open for the next 2 minutes..see? yep, closing in about now..'. I have to go to BCA pula in the morning. I promise, I will find a time and the ability to stay awake for my next post. I promise (insyaallah..). Until then, gutten naght!

I had spent quite some time lately in bookstores, just to find the right book. After going back and forth for several times--one bookstore to another, finally one book hit me *smack!. At that moment I knew this is the type of book I wanted to read, or needed to read maybe. About a mother who dies, and left her daughters letters. Yes, a little sad and heartfelt I suppose, well I just want to sort of 'compare' with my own lost- of- a- mother-story. Perhaps maybe, I can find a bit of soothing words or encouraging thoughts, or just simply --there are many daughters out there who had gone through the same thing as I am (even harder!). Well then, I'm going to start reading it rite now..I'll tell you how it goes! Happy reading everyone..! :)

It's a real LEGO, but no, you can't break them apart, and reassemble. But you can add and attach another LEGO pieces at the bottom or top side of the camera. I'm not so sure about the quality though, it does seems a bit fragile (and cheap too; only $ 49.99!), maybe this is a test project?. Anyway it has 3 Megapixel resolution, 1.5" color LCD, 4X digital zoom, 128 MB internal memory. I have to confess.. I secretly wanted Lorelai and Christopher have the happily ever after ending. They're PERFECT for each other! And you can't help but smile when the two of them shares wittiness (is that right? wittiness?), both obviously treat for the eyes, had history way back, really understands each other. I wish my realationship's like that (I wasn't complaining for what I have though..!), it's like being with a best friend. Like a strawberry ice cream with marshmallows on top!

Month of Togetherness

Tomorrow morning will be the very first day of fasting (preparing myself to get use to waking up at 3 in the morning for one whole month *sigh). And tonight at 10.30-ish PM I can already hear petasan blasting every 5 minutes..

It's suppose to be a joyful and holy month, then how come I feel lonely? Aah, yes.. Because this also been a month about family. It's always been. About togetherness. That when we're getting older somehow we managed to get away from. And this time of year I always feel the most vulnerable. I miss my mom, my sister and her family. I miss being awoke at 3 (or 4) in the morning, helped my mom getting ready for sahur (and of course my dad's being impossible and always asks for telor dadar), and we'll ate together, the five of us and tell stories about..everything. We'll laughed about kak Ata's story, usually around the MTV Sky or Idol..(obviously,duh), we'll awed (or sometimes yawned) at my Dad's story, always about either The Beatles or John Lennon, Architecture, Music or Sufism. We'll gasped at Mama's juicy gossips, around my BIG family-although I remember thinking, I didn't know who it was (my family's THAT big. Or it's just me?). We'll listen to the little baby in the house, Aya, about being young and.. (not so restless for her case), well, she just ate. A lot. *peace Ay!. And me? I didn't really talk much, I think. i don't know, I don't really remember. What I remember now was that warm and fuzzy feeling I had.

In the end, I am truly grateful I've had experience THE 'Togetherness' with my family.

This will be a quieter Ramadhan for just the three of us.

When I was just a little kid, was the first time I think, I literally fell for a movie ( I was more into cartoon back then). Waktu masuk ke taman permen itu, dan adegan Charlie sama Grandpa Joe floating in the air, with bubbles.. After that, terus sampai kuliah I never watched or think about the movie. Until one sunny day, I went to Aksara and just casualy looked through CDs.. And I stopped, there it was: Willy Wonka's Soundtrack! Without hesitated, I quickly grabed it. I dont have that many CDs, but when I do they usually stick and boy this one's stick pretty tight! I truly love the soundtrack! It has a dreamy sort of feeling, and sweet.

Selang beberapa tahun setelah dapet soundtracknya, I went DownUnder and got the DVD there (get it?Down under?rite).

I am addicted.

Okay, I had to put Gilmore Girls here for my own sake. See, if you don't know me, I am a huge- over - the- top- A Gilmore fan. No, seriusly, like, nauseatingly really very much into it. Dulu pertama kali tau ada seri ini, it was one lazy afternoon I guess, I was just flicking through channels and somehow i stopped at channel Trans TV. I immediately fell for this fast talking- mother daughter TV series. I even taped them every Thursday(if I remember correctly), on my VHS tape. Yep, even though I now have the DVDs (bajakan siih..belom mampu beli Original *sigh) I still have the tapes that labeled Gilmore. Ha-ha!I LOVE Rory (I used to think Im quite like her, except for her grades probably..), I think she's so lovely and very beautiful, and also I like that she's a bit shy, not a Diva or anything like it. She's real, which I love. The mother, Lorelai, I love her because she's not perfect, she's not this perfect ideal mother who cooks, cleans, wear pearls and ground their kids--no, she's nothing like that, she's more like a friend than a mother and that makes her realationship with Rory works.

I dreamed of living in Stars Hollow! So tiny, quiet, clean, and everyone knows each other, and the fact that they've always had something to celebrate! Whether it's Thanksgiving, Easter, Bithdays, Dance Marathon, Annual Reenactment of a Revolutionary War Battle, etc.

Soo much fun.

I can go on and on forever...

Last night was pretty tense.. Pertama nonton bareng Le Boyfriend dan adek2nya dirumahnya, karena malem belom kujung selesai juga matchnya, lanjut nonton dirumah sama Papah dan Le Boyfriend. My dad's face was all red from his well known Darah Tinggi, although at first he wont admit kalo dia darah tinggi karena nonton Federrer. But please, i live with him all my life..I know. I shall thank RG for winning and had given us a very thrilling match, and also making my dad's blood pressure came to it's normal state, and we all sleep peacefully. So thank you Roggie.
